How the path works

Three pieces make the game: the stage, the coverage score and the bonus test.

Sample

Stage

10 GRE words per stage. Get 8 of 10 right to clear it; 9 and 10 correct earn 2 and 3 stars.

Below 8 the stage stays open to retry, and the next stage still opens.

Sample

Coverage

The share of the GRE word bank you have answered correctly at least once.

Words listed by more prep books count for more, and coverage only goes up.

Sample

Bonus test

A short mixed mock test after every 10th stage and at the end of each level.

It uses GRE formats: Text Completion, Sentence Equivalence and Reading Comprehension.

FAQ

FAQ

Is GREPractice a GRE vocabulary game?

Yes. GREPractice organizes 4,597 GRE words into 10 levels and 461 stages of up to 10 words. You clear stages, earn stars, raise a coverage score and unlock bonus tests in GRE question formats.

How do I clear a stage?

Answer at least 8 of the 10 questions correctly (80%). 9 correct answers earn 2 stars and all 10 earn 3. With fewer than 8 you can retry the stage, and the next stage still opens.

What is the coverage score?

Coverage is the share of the GRE word bank you have answered correctly at least once. Words listed by more GRE prep books count for more, and the score only goes up.

What are bonus tests?

After every 10th stage and at the end of each level, a short mixed mock test uses Text Completion, Sentence Equivalence and Reading Comprehension questions. Bonus tests are optional and never block the next stage.

Is the GRE vocabulary game free?

Level 1 (4 stages, 40 words) is free with an account. Levels 2 to 10 open with Booster, a one-time payment of $99 for lifetime access.
